Infant killed after hit-and-run in north Houston

Most Houston residents understand the importance of driving safely. Drivers know they should always pay attention to the road, not drive after they have been drinking and follow the speed limits. But occasionally a driver comes across someone who is not being safe, and a serious car accident can occur.

A one-year-old was recently killed in a tragic car crash in north Houston. The girl was strapped in the front seat of her father’s car when a Toyota Tacoma hit a curb, overcorrected, and hit the girl’s car head on. The accident occurred on Aldine Mail Route near Eastex Freeway. The driver of the Tacoma fled the scene but was later located and was believed to be impaired. The one-year-old girl died, and her father was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the Tacoma has been taken into custody.

When a loved one is unexpectedly injured or killed in a car accident it can turn a family’s life upside down. A family who is facing this situation may want to speak with a legal professional who is skilled in personal injury. An attorney can visit the accident scene, interview witnesses and review police reports and help the family understand what happened to cause the accident. Compensation may be available for medical expenses, funeral expenses, pain and suffering, and other damages.

An unexpected car accident can seriously affect a family, both emotionally and financially. Families have the legal right to hold the negligent party responsible for their mistake and make sure they understand the damage they have done.
